Removing mould on leather

Mould stains on upholstered furniture are not only unsightly, but also a health hazard. Therefore: Do not wait until whole mould fungus colonies are visible, but act at the first sign of mould building up.

In this case, proceed depending on the leather type as follows:


PIGMENTED SMOOTH LEATHER / SEMI-ANILINE (lightly pigmented smooth leather)

If the mould is only on the surface, mix the KERALUX® Strong Cleaner with 2-3% vinegar essence or with 5% white vinegar. Use this to clean the area affected by the mould. Having done this, wipe down thoroughly, leave to dry and then treat with the KERALUX® Care Lotion P. The recommended products are listed here:






If, however, mould stains have already penetrated deeply into the leather, thorough and complete cleaning is unfortunately no longer possible. For health reasons in particular, it is advisable in such case to dispose of the upholstered furniture.


PURE ANILINE (untreated leather)

If the mould is only on the surface, mix the KERALUX® Strong Cleaner with 2-3% vinegar essence or with 5% white vinegar. Use this to clean the area affected by the mould. Having done this, wipe down thoroughly, leave to dry and then treat with the KERALUX® Care Lotion A.

Care and protection for natural aniline leather. It spends the leather useful moisture, nutrition and impregnation. The additional sun protection helps to prevent early fading. Perfect care after cleaning of aniline leather.
